HOW DO I BOOK?

Fill out our booking form and tell us a bit about your idea.Include any reference images, placement and approximate size if you can.We'll get back to you as soon as possible, usually within a few hours during business hours.Need a quicker answer?Send us a message on Instagram or give the studio a call.

DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

Accepted Answer

Yes.Deposits secure your appointment and allow us to set aside time specifically for you.Without a deposit, we can't guarantee your booking.If you're chasing something on the same day, give us a call and we'll let you know what's available.

ARE DEPOSITS REFUNDABLE?

Deposits are non-refundable.When you book an appointment, your artist sets aside that time specifically for you. Last-minute cancellations and changes can be difficult to fill, which is why deposits are required to secure your booking.If you need to reschedule your appointment, we ask that you provide at least 72 hours' notice.Each booking includes one complimentary reschedule when sufficient notice is given.If less than 72 hours' notice is provided, or if you need to reschedule more than once, your deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required to secure another appointment.If you're unable to make your appointment, please get in touch with us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to help.

HOW MUCH DOES A TATTOO COST?

The cost of a tattoo depends on a few different factors, including:
• Size• Placement on the body• Complexity of the design• The artist you choose
Every tattoo is different, so the best way to get an accurate quote is to get in touch with us and tell us a bit about your idea.As a general guide, our minimum charge for tattoos is $180.For larger or more custom projects, artists generally work on an hourly rate, which typically ranges between $180 and $200 per hour, depending on the artist and the project.If you're unsure where your tattoo might sit price-wise, send us a reference image and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction.

DO YOU OFFER CONSULTATIONS?

Absolutely.Not every tattoo requires a face-to-face consultation.For many pieces, we can organise everything through email, Instagram or a quick phone call.If your project is larger, more detailed or you're not entirely sure what direction you'd like to go, we may recommend a consultation with your artist.These appointments are a great opportunity to discuss ideas, placement, sizing and the overall plan for your tattoo.

ARE CONSULTATIONS FREE?

Yes.Consultations are completely free and usually take between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the project.They can be done in person, over the phone or via Zoom when required.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

Come in well-rested, hydrated and with a good feed in your stomach.Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed.If possible, avoid bright or expensive clothing, as ink and blood can occasionally stain fabric.
For longer sessions, feel free to bring:• Water and snacks• Headphones• A phone charger
• Anything that'll help you stay comfortable
The more comfortable you are, the better the experience tends to be.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND?

Of course.You're more than welcome to bring a friend along to your appointment.The only thing to keep in mind is that, for hygiene, safety and space reasons, only the person being tattooed is allowed inside the tattooing area.This helps minimise distractions for the artist and ensures there's enough room for everyone to work comfortably.Your friend is welcome to relax in our reception and lounge area while they wait, and we'll make sure they're looked after.Whether they're coming along for moral support or just to keep you company, they're always welcome at Popcorn Tattoo.

CAN I USE NUMBING CREAM?

We generally recommend avoiding numbing creams unless you've discussed itwith your artist beforehand.Some products can affect the skin, impact the tattooing process and occasionally lead to less predictable healing results.If you're considering using one, have a chat with us first.

DOES GETTING TATTOOED HURT?

Let's be honest — tattoos aren't completely pain-free.But it's usually nowhere near as bad as people expect.Everyone experiences pain differently, and factors like placement, sleep, stress levels, hydration and session length can all play a part.Getting a good night's sleep, eating beforehand and staying hydrated can make a massive difference to your experience.Most people handle it far better than they think they will.

HOW LONG DOES A SLEEVE TAKE?

This depends on the style, size and the artist you're working with.As a rough guide, most sleeves take multiple sessions and can range anywhere from 25 to 40+ hours of tattooing.Every artist works at a different speed, so the best way to get an accurate timeframe is to speak directly with your tattooer.

HOW LONG DOES A TATTOO TAKE TO HEAL?

Most tattoos heal on the surface within 2–4 weeks.However, the deeper layers of skin continue healing for several more weeks.We recommend looking after your tattoo and keeping it moisturised for 4–8 weeks to achieve the best possible result.

DO YOU OFFER TOUCH-UPS?

We offer complimentary touch-ups within the first 3 months when required.Some placements and circumstances may not be covered, including:• Fingers, hands, feet, toes, palms, ears, lips, armpits, knees and elbows• Tattoos where aftercare instructions were not followed• Single needle tattoos• Tattoos completed using numbing cream• White ink tattoos• Missed touch-up appointmentsIf you're unsure whether your tattoo needs a touch-up, simply send us a photo and we'll be happy to have a look.

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO GET TATTOOED?

You must be at least 18 years old.Unfortunately, we do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent.Please bring valid photo identification to your appointment.
